Christmas 2011

Christmas of course started at the beginning of December with putting up the tree. Easton thought the lights were so cool. He enjoyed putting up the ornaments too.
 He was a great helper!

We had a lot of fun getting our the decorations and making the house look like Christmas. When everything was set up we pointed to the tree and told Easton is was a "christmas tree". He repeated us by saying "Christmas". Little did we know that every time he saw Christmas lights he would call it "Christmas" or if he wanted the Christmas tree turned on he would say "Christmas on please". It was so cute because wherever we went in the car he was constantly calling out "Christmas, Christmas" when he would see all the lights on houses. If asked what Christmas said Easton would say "ho ho ho". After Christmas when everyone took their lights down and he did not see them anymore he asked us while we were driving "Where's Christmas? Where did it go?" It was so cute. We told him Christmas was over but that it would be back next year. He was ok with that. However, whenever he does see any kind of lights that resemble Christmas lights he will point and say "look Christmas"!
We went shopping for stocking stuffers at the dollar store, Easton found these hats so we had to put them on!
Don't mind my hugeness I am just really pregnant!
We took some time to visit temple square and see the lights and show East the Christus. Easton loved to see all the lights at Temple Square, he was saying "Christmas" all over the place!
Christmas Eve we went ice skating with Kyle's family. I of course could ice skate but I had a wonderful time watching my boys have a blast together. Easton loved to go out on the ice with daddy. Kyle would take him around once then he would come out with me for a minute then go back out with Kyle again. We did this routine for an hour! East did not complain once the whole time we were there he was having the time of his life with his daddy.
Like I said he loved to be out on the ice with Kyle. We did not put skates on Easton. Kyle would just push him and let his feet slide on the ice. He loved it.
After ice skating we headed over to Kyle's parents house for food and games. East wanted to help carry in the gifts. He loves to help when he can!
Of course we all got Christmas pajamas for Christmas eve. These are East's that he got last year from my aunt and uncle but were too big for him but they fit him perfect this year so they were his Christmas PJs.
An attempt at a family photo, don't mind my hugeness again. Can't wait till this baby comes!!
Christmas morning East opened up his stocking and found that Santa had brought him an awesome magnifying glass. He loved it.
Later Easton opened up his doggy that daddy got him from build a bear. Once he had his magnifying glass and doggy he was set to go until...he opened up his Choo Choos from Santa then nothing else mattered!!
When we got home Kyle built Easton an awesome track and we sat in his room for like an hour playing trains.
He could not get enough of his new trains from Santa!!

Overall Christmas turned out to be really nice. We enjoyed the time we got to spend with just the three of us as a family and the time we spent with extended family. Christmas was on a Sunday this year. So we spent the morning at Kyle's parents house and talked to his brother Matt who was on a mission in Southern France. Then we went home and got ready for church because I was singing in the Choir. After Church we came home and Skyped with my family. It was fun to be able to have them see us open our gifts from them. Finally we headed back to Kyle's parents house for dinner and then back home to spend some time as a family just the three of us. It was a great way to end a great day.
Easton was so fun to watch this year at Christmas. He still does not understand who Santa is yet but next year he will for sure. Next year we will have 2 boys to share Christmas with, it will be so fun to see the boys enjoy the season together!! Well I hope I was able to say most of the stuff we did. If I forgot anything I will be sure to add it.
